About
Dr. Michael K. Nelson
Doctor of Chiropractic
Chiropractic treatment depends on highly developed skills. The sense of touch, the ability to feel the muscles and joints of the spine, takes time and practice to develop. The ability to feel spinal movements, unique to each patient, takes years to master.
Dr. Nelson has been practicing these skills since 1980. He has touched the spines of thousands of people. He has learned that no one patient is alike. People's spines are as individual as their thumbprints, none are exactly the same. Experience in the art of Chiropractic is a valuable asset. The variables encountered are infinite, and the ability to call on past experience translates to a better outcome for you.
Dr. Nelson is a native southern Californian. He completed undergraduate study at Long Beach State University, achieving a B.A. degree in Biology. He was trained in the art and science of Chiropractic at Cleveland Chiropractic School, in Los Angeles, culminating in a D.C. (Doctor of Chiropractic) degree in 1983. He has practiced since then in south Orange County, and opened Ortega Chiropractic in 1987.
Aside from his professional life, Dr. Nelson has been married for 43 years to his wife, Sarah. They live with two dogs, Pinky and BeBe. His hobbies are guitar playing, surfing and woodworking.
